A method for creating the early ripening variety Universal of all-purpose large-fruited pumpkins (C. maxima) includes hybridization and selection. While selecting the parental forms, the pumpkin variety Kavbuz, created involving the intergeneric hybrid of watermelon and large-fruited pumpkin (Citrullus lanatus x Cucurbita maxima) is used. While selecting the parental forms, the pumpkin variety Kavbuz is used as the maternal form, the pumpkin variety of the species C. maxima (Volzhskaya seraya) is selected as the parental form, and further multiple selection is carried out. |
