The invention relates to an antibody, or an antigen-binding fragment thereof that neutralizes human TGF-&bgr;1 and has Kless than 40 pM. The invention further relates to a composition comprising said antibody and to use of the antibody claimed for the preparation of medicinal agent for the treatment of human fibrotic disease, human chronic renal disease, as well to use of the antibody in the combination with acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.
