SYSTEM, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR SECURE DOCUMENT TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, method and program for secure document transmission, which ensures security of the transmitted document. SOLUTION: A portion to be made confidential is selected in a document containing confidential information so as to be identifiable from other portions. Images of the original document are then scanned to generate image data, which are subjected to optical character recognition to specify the selected portions to be made confidential. These portions are then encrypted and a hybrid document containing encrypted portions and remaining non-encrypted portions is generated. The hybrid document is then sent along with a decryption key. In the received hybrid document, the encrypted portion is designated. Images of the marked document are then scanned to generate image data. The generated image data are analyzed to identify the designated encrypted portion. The portion is decrypted and the original document is reproduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
