The headrest (1) has a structural body (2) i.e. monoblock, equipped with a peripheral groove inscribed in a transversal vertical plane by defining a front part (4) and a rear part (5). Two formats (6) made of coating material are respectively associated with respect to the corresponding front and rear parts. Each format has a cord (7) slidably assembled in a peripheral housing unit (8). Periphery of each format is placed inside the groove. The cord is closed in a tight loop so as to assure fixation of the corresponding formats in tightness. The front and rear parts include a plate integrated to an assembling rod of the headrest on a backrest of a seat of a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a headrest.
