PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize image fixing performance in a fixing apparatus and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: In heater driving control, the standard on ratio (duty) on heater driving determined corresponding to a set temperature or the like is corrected based on a detected temperature on a fixing belt. In making a correction, whether a fixing belt portion set as an object for temperature detection is a portion (a paper portion) abutting on a recording sheet or a portion (an inter-paper portion) other than the abutting portion when located in a nip part immediately before is determined. The standard on ratio is corrected using an adjustment value corresponding to the portion which is decision results.
