PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large zoom power, in a zoom lens using a liquid lens with small size.SOLUTION: The zoom lens 1 includes: a first lens group 10 which has two or more refracting surfaces 11a, 11b of which curvature changes according to the focal length and which gives a negative refracting power; and a second lens group 20 which is arranged on the image side 2 of the first lens group 10 and has a positive refracting power. The first lens group 10 has: two light transmitting members at least one of which can be deformed; and a type of light transmitting liquid medium sealed between those two light transmitting members, and the first lens group includes a first variable focus lens 11 having a negative refracting power.
