PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow-direction/flow-velocity meter which performs flow velocity measurement being less dependent on a flow direction.SOLUTION: The flow-direction/flow-velocity meter includes: a heating section 11 for heating a fluid to be measured; at least three temperature measuring sections 12a-12h arranged around the heating section 11 to measure the temperatures of the fluid to be measured; and an arithmetic operation section for calculating the flow direction and flow velocity of the fluid to be measured, from changes in temperature of the fluid to be measured acquired by measurement with the temperature measuring sections 12a-12h. The midpoints Ca-Ch of the three or more temperature measuring sections 12a-12h make the vertices of a regular polygon, and the center point of the regular polygon and the center point Ct of the heating section 11 are arranged at the same position. As compared to the case where the flow direction of the fluid to be measured is directed to the midpoints Ca-Ch of the temperature measuring sections 12a-12h, the sensitivity of the flow-direction/flow-velocity meter to the flow velocity of the fluid to be measured, is made higher when the flow direction of the fluid to be measured is directed between adjoining two temperature measuring sections 12a-12h. |
