PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of exhibiting a heat radiation effect of a hard film even in the case of cutting work with little time when respective cutting edges constituting a cutting tool are in contact with a material to be cut.SOLUTION: The hard film covering a surface layer of a base material made of hard metal, high-speed steel or cermet is composed of (AlCrMC) CN, where M is Si and/or Ti. In addition, a relationship of a≥50, a+b≥80, a+b+c=100 and d≥90 is satisfied, where atomic ratios of Al, Cr, M and N are a, b, c and d, respectively. Further, the maximum of an emissivity of the hard film exists in the range between 2 μm and 7 μm in a wavelength of infrared ray and the maximum of the emissivity is set to 0.90 or more. |
