The mobile phone (2) has a camera (12) arranged in or on a hand-held base (4) for receiving digital image data, where the camera is in image data transmission connection with a central unit of the mobile phone. The camera is arranged in or on a camera module (16) that is separably connected with the base. The camera module communicates with the central unit in a state of separation from the base over a line-unbound communication link i.e. wireless link, and in a state of connection with the base over a line-bound communication link for transmission of digital image data to the central unit.
