A method of laundering fabric having the step of contacting a solid laundry detergent composition having bleach to water to form a wash liquor, and laundering fabric in the wash liquor, wherein the composition has a reserve alkalinity of 5.0 or greater, wherein the laundry detergent is contacted to water in such an amount so that the concentration of laundry detergent composition in the wash liquor is from above 0 g/l to 5 g/l, and wherein from 0.01 kg to 2 kg of fabric per litre of wash liquor is dosed into said wash liquor.
