PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retention burner that provides an increased turndown ratio.SOLUTION: At a front end of a straight cylindrical burner body part 5 to which a mixed gas of fuel and air is supplied in the state of flowing forward, an inclined nozzle hole forming part 10 having a main nozzle hole 9 in a center portion and projecting forward to the center is provided in the state of closing the tip end of the burner body part 5. A cylindrical protection part 12a located outside the nozzle hole forming part 10 and projecting forward beyond the nozzle hole forming part 10 is provided in the state of being connected to the front end of the burner body part 5. Pilot flame forming holes 11 are formed in the nozzle hole forming part 10. The pilot flame forming holes 11 are formed to jet the mixed gas toward a front edge of the protection part 12a such that pilot flames formed by the combustion of the mixed gas thus jetted come in contact with the protection part 12a and extend forward beyond the projection part 12a. |
