METHOD OF PERFORATING FOR EFFECTIVE SAND PLUG PLACEMENT IN HORIZONTAL WELLS

Methods of isolating portions of a subterranean formation are disclosed. The planned settled height of a sand plug (302) in a well bore adjacent a first zone of the subterranean formation is determined. The first zone is then perforated using a hydra jetting tool which is oriented so as to form perforations below the planned settled height of the sand plug.
