An electrophotographic image forming apparatus is provided to enable toners to be transferred on the center of dots intensively to reduce the size of a dot relatively, thereby improving power of expression on an image and displaying a high-quality image. A photoconductive drum(110) is charged at the same polarity of surface potential as the charge of toner. A charging unit(120) charges the surface of the photoconductive drum. A transfer roller(150) is disposed in parallel with the photoconductive drum. A pulse power generator(180) has polarity opposite to the charged charge of the toner at a middle value of pulse power, generates square wave power greater than the surface potential of the photoconductive drum at the minimum value, and applies the square wave power to the transfer roller.
