<p>Preparing a dye solution comprises: (a) mixing water and a thickening agent to obtain an aqueous solution, which exhibits a viscosity of at least 2500 mPa.s determined according to DIN 53018; (b) mixing the aqueous solution with a binder and aluminum particle to obtain a dye solution-precursor; (c) adding water and optionally further additive to the precursor to obtain a dye solution, which exhibits a viscosity of 120 mPa.s determined according to DIN 53018. Independent claims are included for: (1) the dye solution comprising 0.01-0.5 wt.% of thickening agent, 10-30 wt.% of binder, 1-10 wt.% of aluminum particle and 0.1-1 wt.% of additives; and (2) a method-2 for manufacturing carbon-based shaped articles (comprising, on the surface, aluminum particles above the immobilized binder) comprising providing shaped articles, which is based on carbon to at least 50 wt.% and contacting the surface of the shaped articles with the above dye solution.</p> |
