PURPOSE: An air-conditioner is provided to reduce the compression loss and power consumption in a compressor by changing the length of the refrigerant flow path of the compressor or/and evaporator. CONSTITUTION: An air-conditioner comprises a compressor, a condenser, an expanding device, and an evaporator. The condenser condenses the refrigerant compressed by the compressor. The expanding device expands the refrigerant condensed by the condenser. The evaporator evaporates the refrigerant expanded by in the expanding device. The condenser or/and the evaporator comprise a shell(61), a refrigerant tube(62), a bypass tube(63), a first refrigerant control valve(64), and a second refrigerant control valve(65). The shell has water inlets(52a,54a) and water outlets(52b,54b). The refrigerant tube is arranged inside the shell. The bypass tube is connected to the refrigerant tube so that the refrigerant flowing into the refrigerant tube bypasses a part of the refrigerant tube. The first refrigerant control valve controls the refrigerant flowing to the part of the refrigerant tube. The second refrigerant control valve controls the refrigerant flowing to the bypass tube.
