PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable agricultural covering material having such a high initial strength and a high initial elongation as to allow withstanding of the practical use, and good light transparency and weatherability, and almost completely degraded by actions of microorganisms after use to be easily subjected to a disposal treatment.SOLUTION: The biodegradable agricultural covering material includes a spunbonded nonwoven fabric composed of conjugated fibers as constituent fibers. The conjugated fibers include a polylactic acid-based polymer having ≥160°C melting point, and an aliphatic polyester polymer having a lower melting point than that of the polylactic acid-based polymer by ≥50°C. In the biodegradable agricultural covering material, the aliphatic polyester polymer forms at least a part of the fiber surface, is composed of 1,4-butanediol and succinic acid as constituent components, and contains 0.1-1 mass% of an amide wax. |
