<p>Disclosed is a light emitting device capable of enhancing light emitting efficiency. The light emitting device comprises: a light emitting chip which generates light; a chip mounting unit on which the light emitting chip is mounted; a reflection layer formed on at least one portion of an outer circumferential surface of the chip mounting unit; and a protection layer which is formed on an outer circumferential surface of the reflection layer and which is made of a metal having superior corrosion resistance which is superior to that of the reflection layer. There are various possibilities for the chip mounting unit such as a lead frame, a slug, a printed circuit board substrate, or a ceramic substrate. The reflection layer, which has high reflectivity, is formed on the chip mounting unit, and a thin metal protection layer is formed on the reflection layer, thereby reducing defects such as from corrosion, discoloration or the like while maintaining the reflective rate of the chip mounting unit above a certain level.</p> |
