PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a method of sticking or depositing a thin film of a heavy metal or a method of forming luster on a glazed surface by generating chlorine based gas during firing is known as a method of developing the luster such as Yo-hen on the glazed surface of a pottery, but one using the heavy metal probably causes the deterioration, discoloration or stripping of the luster with time related oxidation action and one using chlorine gas does not exhibit the strongly glittering luster such that the Yo-hen exhibits.SOLUTION: A fine structure of the luster of the structural color is formed by introducing fluorine based gas in a kiln under firing at 650-850°C to cause a gas phase reaction of etching action or covering action on the glazed surface of the pottery. The luster by the structural color is not changed semi-permanently and strongly glittered. |
