COMPOSITE SHAPED BODY, SILICA GLASS, AND PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION OF SAME

Provided is a composite shaped body comprising silica nanoparticles and an organic polymer, wherein the silica nanoparticles and the organic polymer constitute a three-dimensional network. The composite shaped body exhibits excellent formability and fabricability and is suitably usable even in producing a silica glass which has imparted electrical conductivity. Also provided is a silica glass (in particular, electrically conductive silica glass) which is produced by firing the composite shaped body.
