PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire break detector for more surely detecting a wire break by an inexpensive circuit structure without suffering any change in power supply voltage supplied to a voltage detection means all through a time of wire break and a time of normal.SOLUTION: This wire break detector is provided with switch elements SW2 for reducing impedance of a voltage detection IC 12 for detecting a voltage between both ends of unit cells BTto BTconstituting an upper block B2 out of the upper block B2 and a lower block B1 adjoining each other. A break of an electric wire L1 is detected by a voltage detection IC 2, if a voltage between both ends of the lowest unit cell BT, which is detected when the switch elements SW2 is brought to an on state, is equal to or less than a threshold. |
