The module (10) has an optical axis (12), and a projection lens (14) comprising a light emission surface (16) whose envelope exhibits a convex curvature. A lens attachment adjusts axial position of the projection lens in the module and exhibits a lens carrier (18) with a support ring aligned for supporting the projection lens and a lens holding ring (20) for fixing the projection lens in the support ring. The curvature extends over entire circumference limiting the light emission surface in radial direction up to closing edge of the projection lens. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a projection module.
