PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boiling water reactor capable of increasing the flow rate of a coolant supplied among respective fuel assemblies and capable of inserting control rods to the core, in a short period of time when there is an earthquake.SOLUTION: A fuel support clasp 13 is attached to a core support plate of the boiling water reactor 1. The lower-end part of the fuel support clasp 13 is inserted into the upper-end part of a control rod guide tube 10 disposed under the core support plate. The control rod 16 connected to a control rod driving mechanism 15 is disposed in the control rod guide tube 10 and is inserted among the respective fuel assemblies 4 the lower-end part of which is supported by the fuel support clasp 13, through a through-hole 35 formed in the fuel support clasp 13. A roller 11 is disposed on the inner surface of the control rod guide tube 10 near the lower end of the fuel support clasp 13. When there is an earthquake, the fuel rod 16 is guided by the rotating roller 11 and can be inserted among the respective fuel assemblies 4, in a short period of time. The roller 11 is not disposed in the through-hole 35. |
