PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium, with which a uniform resist layer without any defects can efficiently be formed on both surfaces of a disk-shaped magnetic recording medium substrate having an inner hole at a center thereof.SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the magnetic recording medium, including an applying step for applying a resist on the surfaces of the disk-shaped magnetic recording medium substrate having the inner hole at the center thereof by a spin coating method, the resist layer is simultaneously formed on both principal surfaces of the substrate, while an unapplied part is formed on the inner peripheral part of the substrate by applying the resist; while the inner hole part of the magnetic recording medium substrate is interposed and held by two disk-shaped holding tools having an axis as a center axis of the substrate from both surfaces in the applying step. |
