PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly determine whether an image is categorized as night view or as underexposure, and to perform correction processing suitable for each category.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus divides an image into a plurality of areas, calculates a feature amount for each of divided areas, determines whether each area is categorized as night view or as underexposure at the minimum based on the calculated feature amount, determines a category of the entire image based on a result of the category determination, and performs correction processing on the image based on the determination result. |
