PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door lock device for a vehicle in which neither an operation force of an operation means nor a moment stroke of a lever to be operated varies even if a turning arm is fitted in any of a plurality of engaging parts, while the structure and assembly work is easily and cheaply be achieved.SOLUTION: A cover 14 of this door lock device comprises an upper section disposed at a height position overlapping an outside handle 10 in the thickness direction of a door 1, and a lower section disposed at a height position not overlapping the outside handle 10 in the thickness direction. On the upper section, the turning arm having a central axis line extending in the thickness direction is rotatably held. A key cylinder device 11 is connected with a base of the turning arm through an operating shaft 12 extending in the thickness direction, a lock/unlock mechanism includes a key lever which extends upwards to the upper section from the lower section to engage with an arm section of the turning arm, and the lower section is arranged so as not to overlap a recess 9 of the door 1, on which the outside handle 10 is located, in the thickness direction. |
