PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus achieving energy saving by suppressing wasteful power consumption.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: a print data storage section 204 that, in response to the reception of user identification information and print data in order to carry out confidential printing, stores the user identification information in association with the print data. The image forming apparatus also includes: an authentication section for receiving the input of the user identification information and comparing the received user identification information with the user identification information stored in the print data storage section 204, thereby performing user authentication; and a CPU 200 functioning as a control part which receives input for determining whether to carry out printing based on the print data after the user authentication, and when the input indicates that printing is carried out and a fixing unit of the image forming apparatus is in a power-saving state, resets the fixing unit from the power-saving state by starting supply of power to the fixing unit. |
