PURPOSE: An object based image search apparatus and a method thereof for family diagnosis using the indentificatin of an object are provided to search the similar image by using the identifying information showing the property of the object and the numeric information including location. CONSTITUTION: An image input unit(110) receives a diagnostic object image including objects and the identifying information showing the property of object. An index generator(130) generates the numeric information including the location of object, and distance between the size and the other object based on the representative point selected in the area corresponding to the object. An image searcher(140) determines a reference image from an image database.
