PURPOSE: A roof air bag apparatus for vehicles is provided to prevent collision between a passenger's head and a projected head lining in a vehicle crash since the headlining of a vehicle roof is not projected by an air bag device. CONSTITUTION: A roof air bag apparatus for vehicles comprises an inflator(200), a containing pocket(300), an air bag cushion(400), and an air bag door(500). The Inflator provides gas pressure. The containing pocket is fixed to the inner side of a head lining(820) of a vehicle roof(800). The containing pocket has a space inside. The air bag cushion is built in the space. The air bag cushion receives the gas pressure from the inflator and is inflated downward.
