Tyre for heavyload vehicle wheels, comprising: - a carcass structure comprising at least one carcass ply (101); - a belt structure (105) disposed in a radially outer position with respect to said carcass structure, said belt structure comprising: - a first belt layer (105a) and a second belt layer (105b) each comprising reinforcing cords disposed at crossing angles of 10-40 deg; a third belt layer (105c) comprising cords disposed at 10-70 deg; - a tread band (106); - at least two inserts (104) disposed between respective axial ends of said belt structure (105) and said treat band (106), each of said inserts comprising a first portion (104a) being tapered towards the equatorial plain of said tyre, each of said inserts being formed with a first vulcanised elastomeric material comprising a diene polymer and an amount of a reinforcing filler, charactrized in that said amount of reinforcing filler comprises at least 70% if silica.
