XENON LAMP BALLAST MODULE SUITED FOR MAINS SUPPLY

A xenon lamp ballast module (4) suited for mains supply is provided, which is connected between a mains alternating current supply (ACV) and a xenon lamp(1). The ballast module (4) comprises an alternating current supply input terminal (41), a rectifier circuit (42), a boost circuit (43), a high-voltage ignition circuit (22), a converter circuit (23) and a ballasting component (24). The mains alternating current supply (ACV) is introduced by the alternating current supply input terminal (41), then rectified into a direct current supply through the rectifier circuit (42), and boosted to a direct current operating voltage with a predetermined high-voltage potential by the boost circuit (43). An ignition voltage is generated for a xenon lamp (1) by the high-voltage ignition circuit (22) so as to start the xenon lamp (1). The operating voltage required for the xenon lamp (1) is provided by the converter circuit (23). The current flowing through the xenon lamp (1) is ballasted by the ballasting component (24).
