The target device (1) has a target marker (7) which is adjusted through a displacer of an elevation device (10) in the height form an actual-position into a reference-position. The elevation device is provided with an analog or digital position sensor. A ballistic device (12) is provided, which determines the reference- position of the target marker and a display is provided in the visual field. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a target marker of a target device from an actual-position into a reference-position depending on the distance of the aiming target.
