The invention relates to a method for handling at least one piece of equipment for installing a wind turbine generator component. The method comprises the steps of loading said at least one wind turbine generator component to an airship at a site of loading, transporting the airship with the at least one piece of equipment from the site of loading of the at least one piece of equipment to the site of unloading the at least one piece of equipment, and unloading said at least one piece of equipment from the airship at the site of unloading. The invention also relates to use of an airship for performing the method according to the invention.
