<p>A cover arrangement for a load space of a goods vehicle and a vehicle body incorporating such a cover are disclosed. The cover 14 comprises a flexible sheet, a roller 20 onto which the flexible sheet can be rolled to withdraw it from covering the load space, and a shield 32 disposed, in use, above the roller, the sheet extending beneath the shield and above an adjacent wall of the load space 10. The shield may have a convex cross-section, such that it partially surrounds the roller and acts to deflect falling material towards the load space. A subsidiary guard may be disposed between the shield and load space, the sheet passing between the shield and subsidiary guard. The subsidiary guard may be angled down towards the rear of the body, and may have an upper edge that is located forward of and below a lower edge of the shield. The shield serves to protect the flexible sheet and roller when the load space is being loaded, and also deflects the falling load away from the vehicle cab.</p> |
