The device has a video projector (3) by which master images (B1-Bn) are projected. The video projector is coupled with an image data unit (3.2) by which the master images are guided to the video projector. An image output unit (3.1) of the video projector is arranged at an image plane of a camera (1) such that the master images are projected directly on the image plane. The video projector comprises an illumination unit (3.4). An independent claim is also included for a method for recording master images with the help of a camera.
