[Class 78 (i).] In endless chain lifting and lowering apparatus of the type in which the flights or platforms are attached to the chains at the centre of their width so that they are supported solely by the chains without the use of rollers or guideways and are so attached that they will tilt with any inclination of the chains, the flights 9 are formed on both sides with flat carrying surfaces so that both lifting and lowering operations may be effected at different parts of the same elevator. The flights 9 are attached to pins 8 connected to the chains 2, 3 and are maintained in horizontal position by tie plates 10 having a pin-and-slot connection 11, 12 with the chains. |
