PURPOSE: A surge protection device is provided to minimize a power system from being damaged by instantly blocking the input power when a varistor is overheated. CONSTITUTION: A surge protection device comprises a plurality of varistors(410), a first thermal fuse(210), a second thermal fuse(350) and a switching element(310). A plurality of varistors conduct the power over a preset level to a ground. The first thermal fuse is operated with the heat from the heating element. A second temperature fuse is operated with the heat from the varistor. If the second temperature fuse is operated, the switching element conducts the current to the heating element. The operation point of the second temperature fuse is lower than the operation point of the first temperature fuse.
