PURPOSE: A method and a device for providing a group address book service in a communication network are provided to transmit a group address book including data of specific group members to a mobile communication terminal at once, thereby removing needs of individually inputting information about members. CONSTITUTION: Member information is received from a server storing member information(S607). The member information is classified according to each group. A group address book for the classified groups is generated and stored. A specific group address book transmitting request is received from a user. It is authenticated whether a mobile communication terminal is a terminal which can download the specific group address book(S615). If the mobile communication terminal is the terminal which can download the specific group address book, the specific group address book is extracted(S619). The extracted group address book is transmitted to the mobile communication terminal(S625). |
