Invention herewith described refers to the procedure for obtaining continuous fibres from basaltic rocks. The procedure defines the melting of cracked basalt ore, adding greaser, stretching the obtained basic basalt continuous fibre, from which is, after maturation, obtained the roving. The continuous basalt fibre, as roving, has high-tensile stress values (over 375 MN / tex) moisture content below 1% and nominal linear density of up to 800 tex. It is used for making friction materials, the insulation of cables in the industry, as well as for various woven and nonwoven materials. It is cheaper and has better characteristics than glass fibre, and successfully replaces carcinogenic asbestos fibre.
