The pannier (11) has an attachment hook (21) opened along a horizontal attachment direction (Y) to retain a horizontal beam (35) of a carrier (33). A fixing device (25) is arranged opposite to the attachment hook against the attachment direction. A lower surface (15) exhibits a longitudinal form with two longitudinal sides (23), where one of the longitudinal sides is provided with the attachment hook and another longitudinal side is provided with the fixing device. The fixing device is provided at a transition (27) between the lower side and a side surface (17) of the pannier. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a pannier at an upper side of a carrier of a bicycle.
