The method involves determining power density distribution of a core of a nuclear reactor from operating parameter values of the reactor by utilizing a neutron calculation code instantaneously resolving a diffusion equation and updating an isotope balance of the core during exhausting of fuel. A new power density distribution is determined by adjusting the power density distribution with measurements delivered by neutron flux measurement detectors and temperature measurement thermocouples, where the detectors are arranged outside a tank of the reactor. An independent claim is also included for a computer program comprising instruction to perform a method for determining power density distribution of a core of a nuclear reactor. |
