A method for routing packages from an endpoint (110) to a gateway (120) includes receiving a filtering table from a client application. An outbound packet is intercepted and transmitted to the client application, responsive to the filtering table. The client application transmits the outbound packet to a gateway responsive to an application of a policy to the outbound packet and a routing table. Information about the outbound packet is also transmitted to the client application. The outbound packet is also transmitted to a port monitored by the client application. The method further includes, by the application: authentication of the endpoint to the gateway; encrypting the outbound packet; and establishing a secure sockets layer (SSL) tunnel to the gateway (120). The client application resides on a gateway computing device (120), on a client computing device (110), or on a peripheral device. |
