A class E amplifier operates to amplify an input signal having a fundamental frequency in the microwave range. The amplifier comprises a component circuit which operates to selectively deliver an output signal to an output load. The output signal has a frequency substantially identical to the fundamental frequency of the input signal. The component circuit comprises an array of transmission lines having selected electrical lengths that provide a load to the output load at the fundamental frequency, provide substantially infinite impedance between the input signal and the output load at a second harmonic frequency, and provide substantially infinite impedance between the input signal and the output load at a third harmonic frequency.
|
