PURPOSE: A method for quantifying caries is provided, which quantifies caries in a digital image of the tooth in the initial step of the caries. CONSTITUTION: A method for quantifying caries comprises: a step(110) of generating a digital image of the tooth; a step(120) of distinguishing a tooth area, a doubtful damaged part, and extracting extracting the damaged part; a step(130) of distinguishing a strong adjacent domain which is contiguous to the extracted damaged part; a step(140) of reconstructing the intensity value of the tooth tissue; and a step(150) quantifying the state of the caries. |
