The invention relates to a process for mutually authenticating a reader (R) and a radio tag (T), including: a step (21-1) wherein a datum is sent by the tag to the reader, making it possible to determine an index (i), selected by the tag, for identifying a reader authentication ticket (ti); a step (21-2) wherein the reader obtains the ticket (ti) from the predetermined index and the ticket (ti) is sent by the reader to the tag; a step (21-3) wherein the tag obtains an authentication value from the selected index and the tag verifies if the ticket received from the reader corresponds to the obtained authentication value; then, if the verification is positive, a step (22-1, 22-2) wherein the reader finalizes the authentication of the tag; and, if the verification is negative, an interruption of the mutual authentication process. |
