STEEL DUST HAVING CONTAMINANT-TREATING ABILITY AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A steel dust having contaminant-treating ability and a method for preparing the same are provided to replace zero-valent iron with steel dusts from which calcium is removed in the removal of heavy metal. CONSTITUTION: Calcium is selectively removed from steel dusts, and the steel dusts include iron, calcium and heavy metal. An acid cleaning operation is performed for the calcium-removed steel dust. The steel dusts are cleaned by an acid solution of which pH is over 0.5 and below 2 for 1-3 hours. The acid solution is hydrochloric acid solution or sulfuric acid solution. The acid-cleaned steel dusts are dried. The dried steel dusts are collected.
