A magnetic separator includes a non-magnetic drum, a fixed gutter, a fixed magnetic system made of permanent magnets located on a ferromagnetic shunt, which is installed outside the drum along an arc concentrically to the drum surface in such a way that its upper end partially overhangs a gutter and the lower end of it covers the drum surface, on which a layer of product is moved. The drum is mounted horizontally, and the magnetic system is bipolar by the width of drum with a decrease of the width of the poles of permanent magnets in the direction of drum rotation, with separation of polarity of magnets along the arc and displacement of the plane separating the polarity of magnets in the direction of displacement of the product to be separated. |
