PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quadrangular cylinder type motor that has large starting torque. SOLUTION: The motor 10 includes a magnet 11 in which thick parts 14 and thin parts 15 are arranged alternately in its circumferential direction, a yoke 21 which is arranged on the side of the periphery 13 of the magnet 11 and in which thick parts 24 and thin parts 25 are arranged alternately in its circumferential direction, an armature rotor 31 which is arranged via specified space on the side of the inner circumferential surface 12 of the magnet 11, and a rotating shaft 41 which holds the armature rotor 31 rotatably. The thick part 24 of the yoke 21 is arranged to correspond to the thin part 15 of the magnet 11, and the thin part 25 of the yoke 21 is arranged to correspond to the thick part 14 of the magnet 11. Moreover, the periphery 23 of the yoke 21 is composed of a peripheral curved surface 23a which is the periphery of the thick part 24, and a peripheral plane 23b which is the periphery of the thin part 25, and is further configured into a rectangular cylinder in which the four corners of the quadrangle are rounded as a whole.
