PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a cavitation even if the rotation speed of a motor is set high in a self-priming pump including a casing, the motor and an impeller rotatively driven by the motor in which the casing has an impeller chamber receiving the impeller, a suction chamber 15 communicating with a suction part of the impeller chamber and a discharge chamber 16 communicating with a discharge part of the impeller chamber. SOLUTION: A circulation path 18 always opened is formed for circulating water in the discharge chamber 16 to a downstream end of the suction chamber 15 facing the suction part of the impeller chamber.
