PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary-refining apparatus which performs secondary refining of molten steel by alternately using a plurality of vacuum vessels, wherein the constitution of the whole apparatus is simple compared with the conventional apparatus, and even in the case of needing the maintenance, such as the exchange of a sealing member used for a connecting portion of ducts, the maintenance can be performed without substantially lowering the production efficiency. SOLUTION: Respective tip-end parts 8, 9, 12 of vacuum vessel side ducts 3, 4 with upward opening holes provided thereon, and a vacuum-exhausting device side duct 5, are disposed so as to form the same height and the equal interval to the respective ducts. A connecting duct 6 is configured by a reversed U-shape main duct body part 14 which forms downward opening hole, a horizontal shifting means 15 which horizontally shifts the main duct body part 14 to the connecting part, and an elevating means 17 which vertically elevates the duct body part.
