A wireless communication system comprises: a plurality of first radio base stations each of which uses a frequency in a given frequency band to transmit data in a frame to a first terminal existing in an area covered by the radio base station; and a second radio base station that covers the same areas as the plurality of first radio base stations and that uses a frequency in the given frequency band to transmit data in a frame to a second terminal existing in an area covered by the second radio base station. Each of the plurality of first radio base stations notifies the second radio base station of a transmission timing at which the first radio base station transmits the frame to the first terminal. The second radio base station synchronizes a transmission timing, at which the second radio base station transmits the frame to the second terminal, with the transmission timing notified of by the first radio base station covering the area in which the second terminal exists.
